The Story of "T"
"T" is 9 years old and has been a student in our mentoring program for 4 years. At the start she was withdrawn, downcast, and unpredictably explosive with anger. She refused to interact with other students in our group program and met one on one with her mentor, Hannah, for three years. This year we have noticed a significant change in her demeanor. She has grown in her reading skills, gained confidence in the conversations with her mentor, and has built a new friendship with another student in her group. Her social and emotional development has blossomed and she has been transformed into a happier, more resilient young lady.
