Program Overview
Change Inc.'s GAP School, an alternative high school program located in the West Side neighborhood of Saint Paul, serves approximately 200 youth and young adults (ages 15-24) annually through education and enrichment, training that leads to employment, and wraparound social and emotional supports.
GAP School supports students who are underserved by traditional education models, and many face barriers related to complex trauma, poverty, language, or undiagnosed mental health issues. Because of this, GAP School adopts a student-centered approach that adopts or builds models that are based on student's strengths and assets. GAP School students also have access to basic needs and social-emotional supports to remove barriers to success, including daily meals, health benefits enrollment, transportation, and individual/group/family therapy. GAP School is a State Approved Alternative Program accredited by the Minnesota Nonpublic School Accrediting Association (MNSAA).
