Birmingham Talks

Program Overview

Through the Birmingham Talks program, we provide parents with a wearable technology device that counts how many words your child hears so that you can gauge their development and set goals for their growth. We also provide books and educational toys and connect you with a personalized coach, someone who understands what you’re juggling and can help you set (and reach!) your goals for your child. This program has been proven to positively impact early literacy, resulting in children being 3X more likely to be ready for kindergarten literacy assessments.

Birmingham Talks is currently offered to families with children under 5 that live or work in Jefferson County.
