Program Overview

The Boys & Girls Club of North Central Florida's Family Literacy Program empowers families through comprehensive literacy instruction and engagement. Parents receive Adult Basic Education (ABE) support, learning strategies to navigate the school system and assist their children with academics. Children participate in targeted sessions focusing on English Language Arts, math, and science, guided by certified teachers and paraprofessionals. The program integrates Parent and Child Together (PACT) activities using the Reading the American Dream curriculum, fostering literacy growth and strengthening family connections. Together, these components create a cohesive approach to improving literacy and academic success for the entire family.

Student and Volunteer Success Stories

"I never thought I'd be able to help my child with schoolwork, but this program changed everything. Learning alongside my child has not only improved my own confidence but has also strengthened our bond. Now, we read together every night, and I see how excited they are to learn. It's incredible to see both of us growing together." Parent of a third grade student.
