Program Overview

The Berkeley County School District Adult Education Program offers courses in English as a Second Language (ESL), High School Diploma (HSD), and High School Equivalency Diploma (HSED/GED). Day and evening classes are offered for all programs. Workplace reading and math skills, soft skills, digital literacy, resume' writing, mock interviews, and preparation for WIN and WorkKeys are integrated into the curricula. Civics, Citizenship, and Language Aquisition are integrated into the ESL curricula. Testing options include Accuplacer, GED, GED Ready, ParaPro Assessment, Test of Adult Basic Education (TABE), Worldwide Interactive Network (WIN), and Workkeys.

Cost Info

There is a $50 registration fee for GED and High School Diploma registrants, and a $100 fee for ESL registrants. These fees are waived if participants receive SNAP benefits and are able to provide proof at the time of registration. Testing fees vary for the Accuplacer, GED Ready, GED, ParaPro Assessment, and WorkKeys. There are no fees for TABE and WIN.
