Basic English for Speakers of Other Languages

Program Overview

BA English Classes are open to new and current Lowell residents and offer basic English language instruction for speakers of other languages, aiming to empower participants with essential language skills for daily life, community integration, and job readiness. These classes are designed to support learners in building practical communication abilities, cultural awareness, and independence.

Classes are held three times a week—on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays—from 9:30 AM to 12:00 PM, following the Lowell Public Schools calendar. Each semester consists of a 12-week session, with a maximum of 12 students per class. Participants are encouraged to continue their English studies beyond graduation to further enhance their language proficiency.
