Program Overview
Bakhita Mountain Home offers a rent-free, supportive communal living program for adult women survivors of human trafficking, focusing on healing and growth. BMH provides services to help support the growth and continued safety of residents and others who have been victims of Human Trafficking. Survivors are able to utilize case management services and one major area we work with is helping victims who have been denied education. This includes reading and writing skills, writing resumes, and the need to obtain their GED or high school diploma.

BMH worked with a victim of human trafficking who was trafficked at a very young age. During that period of their life, they were denied education opportunities and came to our program with very basic reading and writing skills. Over the next year, staff worked with the resident to provide educational opportunities as well as internal resources for them to build their reading and writing skills. We are so proud to report that this resident not only obtained their GED but are currently enrolled in college.
