Program Overview
ATLAS works with children from birth to adulthood to equip them as readers then leaders who will ultimately lead from within the community towards wide scale transformation. ATLAS Early Learners is built in three phases with specific targets for each group, all aimed at 3rd grade reading. Beginning at birth, ATLAS equips parents to be the primary source of developmental support that will translate to a deeply involved parent throughout the child's maturation process. Sequentially, children progress through the formative years being monitored through all the major developmental milestones, receiving early intervention as needed. Then they are led to master essential competencies which are needed for Kindergarten success. Finally using Orton-Gillingham methodology, children are then ultimately led to be proficient readers by 3rd grade- the primary skill they need to progress successfully in their educational journey. Each child is different so ATLAS is individually customized to support this mastery in every child along the way.
Beyond 3rd grade, ATLAS offers a variety of programs which all work together to instill the character and skills needed to create strong leadership abilities as they mature into young adults. Through training and personal accountability, each avenue of impact has strategic value; and when children are able to participate in multiple ATLAS opportunities, the impact increases exponentially. As stated above, the end goal is to deploy leaders who have the competence and confidence needed to lead from within toward community wide transformation.

Eden entered ATLAS' Early Learners program as a 3 year old with little skill. By October of that same year she was able to write all the letters of the alphabet in order as well as her own name. Over the next year she mastered the program competencies needed to be successful entering kindergarten. By 1st grade, Eden was scoring in the 99th percentile on the nationally normed standardized test. Her mother was so engaged in Eden's progress, that ATLAS recruited her to join the team where she now serves as the Infant Toddler Specialist. She works with parents every day to monitor their own children's development and lead them toward educational success.
