Program Overview
For over a decade, the Katonah Museum of Art has offered ArteJuntos/ArtTogether, a bilingual arts-based family literacy program for Westchester County's Latino immigrant community. ArteJuntos utilizes artwork from the current exhibition as source material for inquiry-based discussions and collaborative art-making. Taught in both Spanish and English and provided at no cost to participants, the program promotes school readiness for children ages three to five while fostering social inclusion through parent engagement and access to informal learning experiences at a cultural organization. The program takes place at the Museum and at partner sites.
Please note ArteJuntos is offered to a closed group of participants. The Museum partners with organizations such as First Steps Early Literacy and Neighbors Link to reach participants. For inquiries about this program, please contact Maria Nikitin, Education and Public Engagement Coordinator at 914-232-9555 x2985 or education@katonahmuseum.org.
