Program Overview
Arkansas Language and Culture Corporation provides language and literacy instruction for adults. We offer morning classes Mondays through Thursdays, 9:00 to Noon. We have evening classes Mondays and Wednesdays, 6:00 to 8:00 pm. The classes are a fun, social, no-stress way to build basic fluency in English. Students learn by participating in small group conversation activities with no testing or lecture. We also teach American history and culture to help students prepare for citizenship. Classes are held all year at the Rooker Public Library at Stagecoach and Otter Creek Ct. in SW Little Rock. There is no registration and no cost to students. Come and join us!

Mary says...I am a student of Mr. Steed since 2022. Last Saturday I went to the bank to get a new card but the teller only spoke English. I was a little nervous but she understood me and I understood everything she told me. I was very excited because before I couldn't communicate in English but now I have improved my pronunciation and I understand much more than a few months ago.
Guadalupe says…Yesterday was a very exciting day for me because I felt proud of myself. My son had an ear infection and they gave him an appointment at 6:15 pm. We were only in the hospital for 20 minutes!! because we didn't need an interpreter. I told them what was happening with him and answered all his questions and I understood what they said. Before, we spent hours waiting to be interpreted just for a simple headache, stomach ache, or flu. Oh and I made the appointment in English too!!! So I called my friend to tell her what had happened because I was very excited.
