Program Overview
What is ABE?
Adult Basic Education (ABE) helps adults build skills in reading, writing, math, and computers. It is for people who want to improve their knowledge for jobs, daily life, or further learning. ABE also helps adults prepare for high school completion tests like the GED.
What Will You Learn?
- Reading and Writing:
Improve reading, spelling, and writing skills. Learn how to understand and share ideas clearly.
- Math Skills:
Practice basic math like adding, subtracting, and solving problems. Learn skills to manage money and do math at work.
- Computer Skills:
Learn to use a computer, email, and the internet. Get comfortable with basic programs and tools.
- High School Test Prep:
Get ready for tests like the GED or HiSET. Study reading, math, science, and social studies.
- English for New Speakers:
Practice speaking, reading, and writing in English. Learn words and skills to talk at work or in the community.
- Job Skills:
Practice teamwork, communication, and problem-solving. Learn how to write a resume and prepare for job interviews.
