Program Overview
AR Kids Read is community-based program that recruits, trains, and places volunteer reading tutors in elementary schools in the four Pulaski County School Districts. Volunteers spend an hour a week for at least a semester working with struggling readers (as identified by their test scores and teachers) in the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grades. Volunteers come from all sectors of the community including businesses, churches, civic clubs, and government agencies.

There is no charge for the children in the program; however, they must be identified by teachers to participate.Education services
