Program Overview
Across North Carolina, there is a shortage of affordable rental homes available to low-income households (ELI), whose incomes are at or below the poverty guideline or 30% of the area median income (National Low-Income Housing Coalition, 2020). Extremely low and low-income individuals are disproportionately impacted by the Coronavirus. The major effects of the pandemic have caused many individuals to lose family, friends, and community support due to the lack of available resources during these challenging times. The pandemic has allowed us to build a solid foundation for our transitional housing model. Most of our clients come from the department of correction and/or are veterans. We will provide housing and services to those participants in our program and as they transition, we will open our doors to others.
Building Career Pathways to Economic Mobility allows us to continue to service and meet the national need of literacy and housing.
