Mikaylah Coleman AMIkids – Success Story
Pensacola's success story for the quarter is Mikaylah. Mikaylah has been our most consistent student in all of 2020. She maintained a near perfect attendance throughout the quarter. Her only absences came when she was unable to secure
child care for her daughter. Mikaylah has been our biggest cheerleader for the program and she is constantly attempting to recruit friends to join AMIkids. Mikaylah appreciates all the services that the AMIkids program offers and believes that we do a great service to the community by offering our services
to anyone that meets the qualifications. Mikaylah has never turned away an opportunity to obtain education. She consistently passes examinations with near perfect scores. She spends time during the weekend studying and loves to take on extra assignments that will help her develop the skills that will make her a successful citizen. Mikaylah demonstrates an unparalleled passion for education and career exploration by conducting her own research and sharing her new knowledge with her peers. She always encourages her peers to push themselves and
to seek a higher purpose than what todays conditions have presented them. Mikaylah is so eager to complete her carpentry training just so that she can
volunteer to help build lower income housing for those in need. Her advocacy
for the program and desire to develop valuable life skills makes her an
exceptional student and invaluable member of the community.Mikaylah has approached her work within the program with vigor and has accomplished a great deal as a result. She has completed OSHA10 training, CORE, Safe Staff, and is currently studying module 3 of the Carpentry curriculum, and will be
taking her Food Managers exam in early January. Mikaylah is truly an asset to the program, and her positive demeanor encourages all that interact with her. In addition to her achievements in vocation, Mikaylah is also studying for her GED exam. She has a goal of taking her GED final during the first quarter of 2021. She is also working with her career coordinator to build her resume and perform interview preparation in hopes to land her dream job upon graduation. Mikaylah has stated that tomorrow is promised for those that prepare themselves adequately for their future.
