A&L Afterschool Literacy+ Institute program mission is to “make students S.M.I.L.E.” through positive learning outcomes grounded in the following guiding principles: • Stimulate student critical thinking • Maintain high expectations • Involve literacy and writing to learn activities • Link motivation to student enjoyment • Encourage healthy and nutritious lifestyles. Since 2010, we have launched creative game-based, interactive programs focused on literacy, STEM (science, technology, engineering, math), life skills, community gardening, leadership, and summer tennis for more than 100 youth and adults each year. We serve students and veterans at all grade and skill levels in the areas of reading, writing, and speaking.
Hours of operation: 9 am to 8 pm
