Program Overview
The After School Literacy and Computer Program consist of tutoring, homework help, computer coding club, fun and games and reading comprehension classes. This program is for children between the ages of 6 and 11. The theme is "Leaders are Readers." We serve the underprivileged population of Groveland, Florida with the majority of the children being minorities and from low-income families. We manage and operate a local community center only one (1) block from Groveland Elementary, named the Elese Tomlin Community Center. We offer a variety of social services for families to include assistance with Access Florida, Food Stamps, Medicaid, Social Security and Cash Assistance. We provide back backs and school supplies for disadvantaged children and offer computer technology training. With the 21st Century becoming more and more technologically advanced, children learn Coding in our free After School program where they learn how to code robots and drones. This type of training is not provided anywhere for disadvantaged children. We believe the program is innovative and will render great success.
