Program Overview

Family Literacy Program provides English as a Second Language in two levels--Beginner and Intermediate--as well as Early Childhood Development for children (ages 0--4) of participating parents, Parenting Education, and PACT (Interactive Literacy Activities between parents and their children). The program has been active for 15 years and serves families from Manor ISD and Elgin ISD. Activities are offered on the Excel Academy campus of Manor ISD at 600 Parsons Street, Manor and at 200 Depot Street, Elgin. The program is offered year-round with an academic summer day for school-age children that enables parents to continue studying through the ISD summer break.
