Program Overview

Our mission is to break barriers and foster lifelong learning by providing accessible and effective adult literacy and ESL programs. We strive to build a foundation of literacy and language proficiency that opens doors to personal growth, social integration, and success in the globalized workforce by creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment, promoting cultural understanding, and championing the transformative power of education for adults of all backgrounds.

We offer one to one tutoring for native English speaking adults who needed help with reading. We offer multi-level ESL classes, an ESL computer lab, an ESL Conversation group and one on one tutoring for some learners. New learners register and take an assessment for class placement. Our credentialed teacher teaches a beginning class and a multi-level class for 6 hours a week. Requirements for learners are that they have to be 16 years old, not concurrently in school, and living in Benicia.

Cost Info

All classes and materials are offered free of charge. Students must only pay the cost of taking the GED if in that program.
