Program Overview

Unity to Serve International offers a community-based English program for adult women who want to improve basic reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills. The program is open to immigrant and refugee women with limited English. Classes focus on simple, everyday English used at home, at work, and in the community.

Participants meet twice a week in small groups with a trained instructor. Lessons include speaking practice, reading simple forms, writing short messages, and understanding common workplace and community situations. If funding is available, the program may also include basic digital skills and introductory job-readiness activities.

Classes are held in Concord, California, in a safe and welcoming space. Limited support such as transportation assistance or childcare may be offered depending on available funding. No prior English experience is required.
