Program Overview
In 1997,Won Community Service Center (WCSC) was established with the mission to nurture and empower people who are impoverished. WCSC provides for low-income,
low-English proficiency individuals and minorities in the areas of education, counseling, and social work- in partnership with community and schools. Volunteers work with WCSC to fulfill community needs. WCSC's services include: English as a second language/Citizenship education, legal counseling for
immigrants and their families, counseling for access to medical service, senior citizens' benefits, community service, and cultural events. ** PLEASE NOTE THAT GRADE SCHOOL STUDENTS ALSO MAY JOIN ESL/CITIZENSHIP CLASSES

A perennial volunteer at Won Community Service Center, "Ryder" inspires by working on people understanding one another, to help solve the problem of too much discrimination arising from the stigma of illiteracy and lack of English-proficiency. He says better communication is what we all need to build towards.
