Adult ESL and Citizenship

Program Overview

Heartfelt Tidbits provides a three-hour course for adult ESL learners and citizenship students. Students are divided into groups of 5-7 and paired with 2 teachers. In addition to an opportunity for ESL and Citizenship, students have regular visits and teaching from health care providers, OSU Extension for nutrition, field trips and an opportunities to learn about the American culture including the various religions, community activities and resources available to them.

The class provides an opportunity for students to receive
assistance and referrals for specific needs such as employment, housing, education or general needs, meet new friends and become aware of the various supports in the community.

Volunteers provide transportation to/from the event, assist with teaching, building curriculum, teaching special topics or hosting field trips and special events.
