Legacy Impact English Classes

Program Overview

Adult English classes are for adults and are offered at the Georgetown South Community Center as well as Metz Middle School. Classes are taught by trained teachers. Legacy Impact offers classes ranging from level 1- level 3 and all classes are 16 weeks long. Classes run from January - April and August - December. Student and Volunteer Success Stories

After spending two years together in English as a Second Language (ESL) classes in the neighborhood of Georgetown South, we had become like family. Hours were spent learning, laughing, and simply sharing life with one another.

It was our last day of class before the graduation party. As we said, “See you at the party", each student waved goodbye. However, one individual came over to our teacher and with tears streaming down his face he shared, “You have changed our lives. Thank you, teacher." We asked this individual if he was willing to share with you all, what his experience in English class has meant. Here is what he said, “English is making all the difference, today I have more confidence, I communicate better, I'm making more friends, this project arrived in my life to change my entire perspective on life here in America, and I'm looking to empower myself even more to change not just mine life, but that of my entire family. Thank you, for this 2 years of learning and I hope to continue together with you until the end. Thank you all."
