Program Overview

Learners acquire and store knowledge in two primary ways: linguistic (by reading or hearing lectures), and nonlinguistic (through visual imagery, kinesthetic or whole-body modes, and so forth). The more students that use both systems of representing knowledge, the better they are able to think about and recall what they have learned (Marzano, Pickering, & Pollock, 2001).

Students engaged in Action Based Learning™ improve memory retention, reinforce academic concepts, balance brain chemicals while experiencing whole-brain, whole-body learning. Educational research suggests that about 85% of school age students are predominantly kinesthetic learners.

The concepts in the Action Based Learning™ Lab are based on the brain research that supports the link of movement and physical activity to increased academic performance. The Action Based Learning™ Lab benefits all students for remediation and enrichment.

Kidsfit's helps to prepare the brain for learning and creating kinesthetic classrooms. Many of our activities are academic based to help kids learn. It is not for obesity. Our training division has developed a team of Master Presenters, providing workshops worldwide, for teachers of all levels, nurses, OTs, PTs, parents, administrators, curriculum developers, and youth program coordinators.

The workshops present on the topic of Action Based Learning, brain research that supports the link of movement and physical activity to increased brain development and academic in student health, student behavior, and academic performance.
Other training topics include the Brain in Poverty, Sensory Needs for the Developing Brain, and Linking PE to Education. Trainings are customized to fit the needs of the group, and are offered on-site.
