Program Overview

The Access Center is a program run by Goodwill in partnership with Forsyth Technical Community College. It helps adults earn a high school diploma (AHS) or a high school equivalency (HSE).

Classes are offered both online and in person. Each student gets a career coach who provides personal support and guidance along the way. The program also helps students who want to keep learning and train for a job or earn a degree in a high-demand field.

The Access Center is also offered in other areas:
  • In Buncombe County, with Asheville-Buncombe Technical College;
  • In Iredell County, with Mitchell Community College;
  • In Morganton, with Western Piedmont Community College.

Cost Info

High School Equivalency exam fees vary by type (HiSET or GED, paper or computer-based) and partnership. There are nominal fees for the cap and gown.
