Program Overview

The Education department empowers students to graduate elementary school, obtain a high school diploma or GED, and complete postsecondary studies by providing academic assistance, scholarships, and college readiness programs. Personalized tutoring, ACT preparation, college visit days, literacy classes, creative development workshops, Spanish lessons, college application support, and academic counseling are offered.

The mission of BBF Family Services is to enrich and improve the quality of life for North Lawndale youth and their families by providing safe, stable, and nurturing experiences that enhance social, emotional, academic, and career development.

BBF Family Services envisions a thriving, self-sustaining community where empowered children and families have access to all opportunities. In pursuit of this vision, we provide coordinated programs and services that combat poverty, low educational attainment, chronic disease, criminal activity, and trauma in all age groups.

Hours of operation: 9:00am-5:00pm

Program’s Demographics/Metrics

Our BBF Academic Literacy program provides educational resources for our students from primary through post-secondary. Students receive tutoring resources to improve grades. 90% of our students will complete their current grade and will be promoted to their next grade level and 75% of high school students will graduate college within 6 years.
