Program Overview

ABC READ'S mission is to develop and nurture a culture of literacy in Black and underserved communities. We have reading events that are for the whole family. In these events we have engaging activities that are centered around literacy, and we provide healthy foods. We also give new or gently used books that show Black people, culture, and history. It is important for the people to see themselves represented in these books. We want our communities to get these books so they can build their home libraries. We also give resources to help our young get the help they need in reading and writing.
