Program Overview

The Workforce Development Program of the Center for Independent Living of South Florida serves students with disabilities enrolled at three Miami-Dade County Public Schools vocational education centers (Robert Morgan Educational Center, Lindsey Hopkins Technical Education Center, and Miami Lakes Educational Center). The program provides one-to-one and small group tutoring in basic skills (reading, writing, and math) to improve students' classroom performance and assist them to graduate with a vocational certificate or obtain their GED. Tutoring is also provided to students in Adult Basic Education to enable them to enter a vocational education program. Computer skills training is available to adults with a disability at the CIL of South Florida.
