The High School Equivalency Program (HEP) is a federal program funded through a grant from the U.S. Department of Education, Office of Migrant Education. HEP at Texas State Technical College is located on campus and is ideally situated to provide its students with vast amounts of information and knowledge. Its location also serves to provide students with a first-hand insight regarding college life and its diversity.
The goal of HEP is to help migrant or seasonal farmworkers obtain a GED and subsequently gain employment or be placed in an institution of higher education (college, university, vocational or technical school, or training program).
