Program Overview

Project LIFE (Literacy Instruction to Further Education) is an individualized literacy tutoring program sponsored by Weber State University's Center for Poverty & Inequality. The goal of this program is to provide tutoring to help individuals complete their GED, apply for college or prepare for additional schooling in a specific trade area in order to improve their life and career.

Participants will receive an individualized tutoring program centered around their educational goals. They will learn to improve their reading, writing, study, and computer skills. Those who successfully complete the program can apply for a scholarship up to $500 to use towards tuition, fees, and/or assessments that are required for admission or completion of their program. Our mission is to provide an individualized educational approach to every student so that their education goals can be achieved. We strive to serve a unique population who has undergone some of life's greatest challenges. We aspire to be a bridge that connects their past to a future of success.

Hours of operation: M-F 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM

Cost info: This is a free literacy program aimed at helping those in poverty or who are recovering drug addicts who are involved in a local drug court program. Our mission is to help our students complete their GED and go on for further education at Weber State University or at a local technical school.
