Program Overview

The Northumberland Adult Diploma Program offers several pathways for adult learners. The ABE (Adult Basic Education) Program offers tutoring in reading, writing and math to students that are too low to begin classes. All students are given the TABE (Test of Adult Basic Education) upon entering. They are then placed in either an adult education course or are scheduled for tutoring to help them improve their skills. We also have the GED/HiSet prep program that provides students with the opportunity to take the official practice GED tests. If they pass all 5 of the required tests, they are scheduled to take the official GED/HiSet at the Adult Learner Services office in either Berlin or Littleton. Finally we have the AHS (Adult High School) program that offers students an opportunity to work towards and earn their official high school diploma. Students complete a transcript request for all previous high schools they have attended. Any credits received prior are then applied to the Northumberland Adult Diploma Credit worksheet. Student will then complete courses to fulfill the requirements for receiving a diploma.
