Student and Volunteer Success Stories

From Student Lamesha Howard: "In 2018, I started the Workkeys program with Ms. Cheryl at Fort McKinley then after a few months I finally felt confident to move forward with the Workkeys program. The Culinary Arts program at One Bistro was life changing. With next to zero experience, I went into the wilderness of the restaurant world. I made some changes in my life. I had to really push myself.

The Chef trusted me in my internship to open up the One Bistro by myself running on a Saturday with one classmate helping and I felt like I had to prove myself and it also made me feel ahead of the game, like I could do whatever I put my mind to. I got to feel how it was to actually run a restaurant for a day. I was nervous and excited at the same time.
I'm forever grateful for everything from the beginning to the end. I always keep going and never give up no matter what! To have accomplished getting my high school diploma is everything to me. I pushed through with no looking back taking my certificate to move forward with my private chef meal prepping service!"
