Program Overview

Through The Family Literacy Program (FLP), we provide home-based tutoring to over 100 children who attend Kill Devil Hills, Nags Head, and Manteo Elementary Schools. We plan to expand to Hatteras Island in spring 2018. We also provide weekly English as a Second Language classes to parents
of those students that we tutor, as well as lead a weekly writing club for English Language Learners at Manteo Middle School. We partner with larger non-profit organizations such as the Aquarium, and the Lost Colony to provide experiential learning outside of the classroom.

Mission Statement

The mission of Mano al Hermano is to support and empower Latino families in Dare County, NC.

Hours of operation: M-Su, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
