Program Overview
The Learning Zone provides services to students in grades K-12. Activities and services include: Reading Enrichment, Math Enrichment, Character Development, I Am…, SafeDates, Art, Science, Technology, Math, Spelling, Team Building, and Outdoor Recreation. All activities are designed to: Enhance academic performance Increase completion rates for homework Decrease negative behavior infractions Provide safe options for use of leisure time Increase the level of parent involvement Recently, the Learning Zone has added a Kindergarten Readiness component. The Kindergarten Readiness Program is designed to prepare children between the ages of 4 to 5 for Kindergarten. Our goal is to equip them with the skills and knowledge they will need to successfully transition into Kindergarten and excel at the level they are expected to upon entering school. Also, through partnerships with the Tennessee Technology Center at Nashville State Community College and In Full Motion, Inc., Family Affair Ministries has been able to provide adult GED classes and test preparation as well as ACT prep to middle and high school students. During the last year, almost 200 students have been able to receive tutoring to prepare for these important tests.
Hours of operation: Monday - Thursday 2:30pm to 6:30pm
