Program Overview

In time of human need, Manna Ministries provides and restores health and support to those in needs without regard to geographical areas. Everyday families struggle to make ends meet and suffer from lack of basic human needs such as food, clothing, shelter, and healthcare. That is where Manna Ministries comes in. Since our founding in 1999, Manna Ministries has provided more than $4 million to aid families in all of our programs. Historically, for every $100 donated, Manna Ministries is able to provide health care services to 10 individuals and food/clothing to 15 families each week. These are families who otherwise would not have had access to these basic necessities of life. Manna Ministries has a longstanding commitment to fiscal responsibility and is audited each year by an independent CPA firm. Our audits reveal that 96% of our funding goes directly to support our programs, while only 4% goes to administrative costs. Partnerships allow us to help more people lead healthier lives by providing them with the basic necessities of life such as food, shelter, and healthcare. Head and Heart Academy, as a part of Manna Ministries, Inc. is a new after school program designed to help kids with literacy and wellness. We are already seeing quantifiable results. Manna Ministries, Inc. is one of only eleven (11) organizations awarded grants from the United Way of South Mississippi. The vision and goals of Manna Ministries, Inc. makes it a primary organization to successfully execute this proposal for integrating the academic, spiritual, and physical needs of children in Pearl River County, Mississippi. In a previous study entitled: “Building Pearl River County’s Future” prepared by the Pearl River County Department of Planning and Development (Feb.2002), the business community called for a proactive vision that incorporated both long- and short-term plans that would identify funding sources for early childhood education. Its plan for the people of Pearl River County was to implement building blocks that would connect the community with distant markets, people, and educational options and ensure public health and safety.
