Program Overview

The GED@Center is a tuition-free GED examination preparation course. The GED@Center course creates a safe environment in which students can explore, learn, and prepare for the General Educational Development (GED) examination. The course reviews general language arts, sciences, government, and mathematics, and it also addresses information pertaining to the Illinois Constitutional Exam. The goal of GED@Center is to build the knowledge base and confidence level of students enrolled in the program so that, upon completion of the course, they are equipped to pass the GED exam. Up to 30 students can receive GED test financial assistance (total cost of the 2014 test is $120) as well as bus cards to get to GED preparation class at Center. Assistance is based on attendance and test readiness. Students also have access to 1:1 tutoring and case management as needed at Center on Halsted.The GED Class at Center on Halsted is FREE.
