The Salvation Army in Jackson provides many opportunities for the children, teens, adults and seniors in our community to better their lives. Our Center for Worship and Service provides after-school and summer programs for disadvantaged children in the community. Our youth programs provide homework and tutorial support in conjunction with area schools, character and faith development, lessons on health and safety, supervised recreation and sports and experience with the arts through our Conservatory for the Performing Arts. Our Senior Citizen's Programs include courses of technology and money management, spiritual development, exercise, emotional wellness, community guests, games, health information, organized outings and friendship. Project New Start is offered through our Center of Hope Shelter to residents of our Transitional Housing Program. Residents are given assistance with finding employment and access to life-skill training classes, occupational training classes and G.E.D. courses.
