Program Overview

The Franciscan Center was founded in 1968 by the Franciscan Sisters of Baltimore. The Center is committed to empowering people who are motivated to help themselves. The Center's TRC provides access to GED preparation courses and adult computer literacy training by offering one-to-one interaction and small group classes. The TRC is also designed to assist with job readiness through creating resumes, conducting job searches, practicing through mock interviews, filling out online applications and setting up email addresses. Through the TRC, we also assist with filling out online benefit applications and provide free phone access to follow-up on jobs and other important matters. The computer lab has 12 computers. To comprehensively finish the process, the Center has a signature program called Attire 4 Hire which is a free men's boutique providing professional and formal clothing for important life engagements such as interviews and high school graduations.
