Program Overview

It’s simple: Children thrive when families succeed. Inspired and guided by this truth for 30 years, The Child and Family Network Centers’ (CFNC) mission is to provide caring, high-quality, free education and related services to at-risk children and their families in their own neighborhoods in order to prepare them for success in school and life. Our families speak 13 languages and hail from 21 countries. 75% of our teachers were parents who, with our help, went back to school to become qualified to teach. CFNC continues to expand both the reach and depth of our programming to include not only early childhood education, but also health and social services, English language, and financial literacy programs for parents. We forge community in high poverty areas, holding classes in apartments, community and recreation centers. Currently, CFNC serves almost 200 children and their families living at or below 185% of the poverty line. Our comprehensive approach to early education empowers not just the child, but also the family. CFNC dramatically changes the trajectory of poverty by providing high-quality preschool and the support services families need to succeed. We open the door to a brighter future for at-risk children and their families because every child in our community matters.
