The SEED's English Language and Leadership program invites participants to join a critical community of adult English language learners. Through deep exploration of important themes and topics, participants investigate the conventions of the English languages. Participants are also invited to join in the planning of the program, including decisions related to curriculum, outreach, and funding.
Defining and redefining ourselves, our communities, and our realities by creating and sharing knowledge in language and literacy classes and community engagement.

Student and Volunteer Success Stories
Two participants, Lupita and Rocio, followed their passion for early childhood education by creating a volunteer-run early childhood space in our classroom. They manage the space, including the creation and implementation of activities and working with the parents, who spend their time in our ESOL classes.
We serve adults 18 and over, primarily Spanish speaking immigrants and refugees living in the Southeast Austin community. The vast majority of our participants have children attending K-12 schools in the Austin area. Formal education ranges from one year to university degrees. Time in Austin ranges from weeks to decades. We are excited to be a very diverse community.
