Our family literacy initiative employs a variety of two-generation solutions to helping low-income Hispanic families bridge the academic achievement gap so that all children are reading well by the end of third grade and that all family members become life-long learners: Mother-child education classes help parents make their homes language-rich learning environments that stimulate their children's cognitive growth and social development, preschool classes help little ones prepare for school, after school tutoring helps students of all grades master reading and stay on track for high school graduation, adult ESL classes help parents improve their English skills, parenting groups help families find ways to learn together and to enjoy reading for pleasure. We work in partnership with local schools and other community organizations to help families learn together.
Hours of operation: 9:00-6:00 Monday - Thursday
Cost info: $2 per child per month for after school tutoring services; other programs have no charge
