Program Overview

Founded in 1997, CWJC of Middle TN provides adult education, mentoring, and community resources for low income women and men. Educational classes include English Language (ESL), High School Equivalency (called HSE or formerly GED), and Computer/Job skills. Programs are also located in Madison and Franklin. Set in a Christian environment, CWJC’s volunteers serve as teachers, tutors, mentors, and childcare providers with instruction provided in small groups or one-on-one. The individualized approach and nurturing community helps students accomplish their dreams gaining employment and self-sufficiency. The Nashville CWJC classes and program are located in the Walker Baptist Church building.

Hours of operation: Mon. and Thurs. daytime 10:30-12:30 and Mon. and Tues. evening 6:00-8:00 alternative hours available by appointment

Cost info: There is no student enrollment fee and childcare is provided for free while the parent is in class. For students seeking their High School Equivalency, each is asked to make a contribute of about $20 toward their HiSET testing fees.
