CAS offers a full-service adult education program designed to assist clients age 17 or older to obtain their GED and/or increase their learning skills in order to secure family-sustaining waged jobs. Classes are available on Monday, Wednesday and Friday each week at the Greene, Mon Valley and Washington PA CareerLink sites. On Tuesdays, CAS offers classes at its Washington office and in Burgettstown and Carmichaels. On Thursdays from 2 p.m. until 7 p.m. classes are offered at CAS’s Waynesburg and Washington locations. Upon enrollment and orientation, Pennsylvania-Certified Instructors work with students to determine the appropriate level of classes they will attend in addition to their class schedule. Additionally, students are partnered with a case manager who will focus on eliminating barriers, job placement and/or postsecondary education enrollment.
Hours of operation: 8:30-4:30
Cost info: Community Action Southwest provides GED classes at no cost to its consumers.
