Program Overview

CCCC provides free afterschool programming for elementary-age children, especially for those children who do not have the means to attend programs that cost. We work with the families of those children, helping to connect them with local resources to help their parents create a stable, self-sufficient home. We have been doing this work for more than a decade. CCCC also works with teens who have dropped out of school or who are at-risk for dropping out. We connect them with our local technical college's GED program if needed and provide support and encouragement to stay in school and graduate. We are starting a public awareness campaign to encourage our community to read as a family from birth through high school. One of our goals is to get books in the hands of families who can't afford them and to show parents the value of reading. For parents who struggle to read themselves we will provide support and literacy training to strengthen their reading skills. We partner with our local schools and libraries.
