The Livingston County Community Early Childhood Council's Born Learning Program collaborates with the public library and the University of Kentucky's Extension Office to provide services to families who have children age birth-kindergarten. The goal of the program is to increase kindergarten readiness of students by engaging caregivers and children in a variety of age specific, family oriented activities. Caregivers are educated in child developmental stages, ways they can help their child learn home at, and how they can be supportive of their child's education at school. The Born Reading Book Club is a subset of Born Learning and aims to provide one free age appropriate to all students 0-5 years in Livingston County, with a specific interest in engaging with families who have children at home, outside of a structured daycare or preschool program.
