In 1993, over 40% of all adults in Barrow County, Ga., were without a high school diploma. The city of Winder, school system and local civic groups came together and formed the Coalition for adult education, now known as Adult Literacy Barrow. The 2010 U.S. Census showed that 20% of Adults in Barrow County do not have a high school diploma. This is a wonderful true story of how a community came together to improve Adult Literacy in Barrow County, Georgia.
