Achieve Academy, Sherman ISD’s after school program, is focused on providing a high-quality extended learning experience for 1st – 4th grade students in need of academic assistance. The program provides academic intervention in the following areas: homework help/snack (daily), Power Reading (twice a week), and MindWorks (twice a week). Students are eligible to attend the program based on non-passing scores on STAAR Reading, Math, Science, Writing, or Social Studies and previous End of Year grades of Non-Mastery, Unsatisfactory, Needs Improvement or below 70% grade in their core subjects. The students will be referred to the program by their school day Principal and Counselor based on greatest academic need. Achieve targets students who have been identified as having academic challenges such as fluency and comprehension difficulties, not reading at grade level, and struggling to understand basic math skills. The goal is to provide students with the tools to achieve passing grades in their school day classes, pass the STAAR tests, promote to the next grade, show improved attendance, and to develop the skills to accomplish academic success to graduation.
Hours of operation: M-F 3:00p - 5:30p
