Program Overview

A.P.P.E.A.L. INC is a 501(c) (3) charitable non-profit organization that relies on donations and grants. The organization is dedicated to building parents' capacity for helping their Pre-K through 8th grade children learn to read, and read to learn. Through donation and funding, it provides parents with the tools needed to understand reading strategies for correcting reading deficits associated with lack of phonemic awareness, inadequate phonics skills, and limited fluency, vocabulary, grammar, and comprehension skills. The organization also partners with institutions and communities interested in building parent capacity to help their children learn to read, and read to learn.

Mission Statement


Through collaboration with educational institutions, organizations, and communities, establish parent academies to promote and support academic engagement and literacy for parents whose children are struggling academically.

Hours of operation: 9-5pm est
